The American Society for Virology 43rd Annual Meeting (ASV 2024), hosted by Ohio State and the IDI, took place June 24-28, 2024, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center and featured talks by world-renowned virologists, including Dr. Linda Saif, Distinguished University Professor, Center for Food Animal Health, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, and IDI Viruses and Emerging Pathogens Thematic Program co-director. Dr. Shan-Lu Liu, professor of virology, Department of Veterinary Biosciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, and IDI Viruses and Emerging Pathogens Thematic Program co-director, served as the ASV 2024 Ohio State faculty host director. Dr. Liu is also the ASV president-elect and will assume the role of president, July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026.
