Wittum Appointed to the Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (PACCARB)

Thomas Wittum, PhD, professor of  epidemiology in the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, was recently appointed to the Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (PACCARB) by Xavier Becerra, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. He will serve a four-year term as a voting member of the Council with status as a special government employee.

Dr. Wittum is an IDI Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Thematic Program co-director and a leader of the College of Veterinary Medicine's Antimicrobial Stewardship Program.
