Pesapane Lab Named a 2024 Program of Excellence in Engaged Scholarship

Dr. Risa Pesapane's lab’s Tick and Tick-borne Pathogen Surveillance Program has been selected by the Office of Outreach & Engagement as one of Ohio State’s 2024 Programs of Excellence in Engaged Scholarship. Dr. Pesapane, assistant professor, Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine; School of Environmental and Natural Resources, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, is the faculty lead for the Buckeye Bug Bite Lab within the IDI Genomics and Microbiology Solutions (IDI-GEMS) Lab. The IDI-GEMS Lab will be launching a public tick-borne pathogen testing service later this spring in alignment with the IDI vector-borne disease thrust area with the goal of establishing the IDI as the state’s lead institution in vector-borne pathogen testing and research. 
 
The Programs of Excellence in Engaged Scholarship is managed by the Office of Outreach and Engagement with the purpose of supporting and promoting high-impact engaged scholarship to select programs based on an annual competitive selection process.
