Congratulations to Dr. Rajendar Deora, associate professor, Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity, College of Medicine, and Department of Microbiology, College of Arts and Sciences; and Dr. Guo-Liang Wang, professor and associate chair, Department of Plant Pathology, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. Each received an IDI Fall 2023 Interdisciplinary Research Seed Grant award for their projects as follows:
Dr. Rajendar Deora (PI) and co-investigators, Dr. Mark Peeples, Nationwide Children's Hospital and Ohio State Department of Pediatrics, and Dr. Adriana Forero, Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity, will collaborate on “Transcriptomics of human bronchial epithelium and Bordetella pertussis during infection."
Dr. Guo-Liang Wang (PI) and co-investigator, Dr. Dehua Pei, Department of Chemistry, will collaborate on “Cell-penetrating peptides for delivery of antifungal proteins in plants."
As a reminder, the IDI Interdisciplinary Research Seed Grant programis available for research initiatives intended to foster interdisciplinary collaborative efforts and to enhance competitiveness for defined extramural support for the purposes of growth.
