The Infectious Disease Institute Trainee Association (IDI-TA) was one of over 50 community partners that participated at Ohio State’s West Campus Science & Sustainability Festival (WestFest) on Saturday, October 19, 2024. This family-friendly community outreach event attended by over 400 community members provided the IDI-TA the opportunity to engage with adults and children to educate them on proper tick removal, tick and mosquito species, and tick-borne and mosquito-borne diseases.
Thanks to Elizabeth Ohl, IDI-TA president; Jake Maziarz, IDI-TA undergraduate representative; Darryl Ramoutar, Education Program Senior Specialist, Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine; and Rick Shaffer, IDI business manager, for their participation in the event.
