Registration is now open for the Infectious Diseases Institute Host Defense and Microbial Biology Thematic Program one-day workshop on "Host-Microbe Interactions in the Digestive Tract" to be held Thursday, April 24, 2025, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in room 115 Biomedical Research Tower at The Ohio State University, Columbus Campus followed by an off-campus networking event. See attached preliminary program.

This workshop is open to both the Ohio State and external research communities. Space for this workshop is limited. Registration will close on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 5:00 PM. You will receive an email by February 7, 2025, to let you know if your registration is confirmed.

Lunch, all-day coffee, tea, and water will be provided, and the afternoon break will feature an ice cream bar!

Morning and afternoon short talks featuring leaders in the field will be centered around the following three categories:  

  • Molecules and Communications Between Hosts and Microbes 
  • Microbiome and Non-Infectious Diseases 
  • Microbiome and Susceptibility to Infectious Diseases

Program officers representing various funding agencies will provide overviews of funding opportunities for research.
