Congratulations to Carlos Castro, PhD, Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, College of Engineering, and Jonathan Jacobs, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Plant Pathology, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. Each are recipients of IDI Interdisciplinary Research Seed Grants in the amount of $25,000 for their projects as follows:

Dr. Carlos Castro, PI: Engineering a Novel Vaccine Delivery Platform via DNA Origami Nanotechnology. Interdisciplinary team collaborators (Co-PIs): Emily Hemann, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbial Infection & Immunity, College of Medicine, Christopher Lucas, PhD, Research Scientist, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, College of Engineering, and Niksa Roki, PhD, Postdoctoral Scholar, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, College of Engineering.

Dr. Jonathan Jacobs, PI: Establishing Metagenomic Sequencing as a Diagnostic Tool for Infectious Diseases. Interdisciplinary team collaborators (Co-PIs): Veronica Roman-Reyna, PhD, Research Scientist, Department of Plant Pathology, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, and Seth Faith, PhD, IDI Strategic Alliance Officer, CoMS Executive Director, and Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology, College of Arts and Sciences.
