Congratulations to the recipients of the Spring 2021 IDI Trainee Transformative Research GrantTessa Cannon, PhD student, Anthropology, College of Arts and Sciences, Songyu Dong, PhD student, Biochemistry Program, College of Arts and Sciences, and Dr. Minghang Wang, Postdoctoral Scientist, Center for Vaccines and Immunity, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, each received a $2,000 grant for their projects as follows:

Tessa Cannon, applicant (PI: Dr. W. Scott McGraw) & Dr. Rajni Kant Shukla, co-applicant (PI: Dr. Amit Sharma) will collaborate on "Developing Robust Methods for Noninvasive SIV Detection."

Songyu Dong, applicant (PI: Dr. Dmitri Kudryashov) & Elakkiya Tamilselvan, co-applicant (PI: Dr. Marcos Sotomayor) will collaborate on “Molecular mechanisms of the Salmonella toxin SpvB’s activity.”

Dr. Minghang Wang, applicant (PI: Dr. Zongdi Feng) & William G. Bremer, co-applicant (PI: Dr. Chris Walker) will collaborate on “The role of a secreted form of ORF2 protein in modulating MHC class I antigen presentation during hepatitis E virus infection.”
