IDI’s Host Defense & Microbial Biology (HDMB) thematic program recently awarded three $2,500 grants to support additional data collection for grant applications that had been scored but not funded. Awardees are:
Jonathan M. Jacobs, PhD, Assistant Professor, Plant Pathology, for his NSF Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases application entitled, S-UK Collab: Modeling pathogen emergence to determine durability of disease resistance
Namal Liyanage, PhD, Assistant Professor, Microbial Infection & Immunity, Veterinary Biosciences, for his NIH R01 application entitled, Retooling NK cells to enhance HIV vaccine efficacy
Fernanda Novais, PhD, Assistant Professor, Microbial Infection & Immunity, for her NIH R01 application entitled, Distinct functions for CD8 T cells in cutaneous leishmaniasis
This funding mechanism was created to help IDI HDMB thematic program members submit more compelling grant applications by adequately addressing reviewers’ comments. Congratulations, investigators!
