Congratulations to the recipients of the Fall 2021 IDI Trainee Transformative Research Grant! Dr. Lohitha Gujjari, Visiting Fellow, Department of Entomology, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, and Manuja Gunasena, Comparative Biomedical Sciences PhD student and Graduate Research Associate, Department of Microbial Infection & Immunity, College of Medicine, both received a $2,000 grant for their projects as follows:
Dr. Lohitha Gujjari, applicant (PI: Dr. Peter Piermarini) & Dr. Ganesh Yadaigiri, co-applicant (PI: Dr. Renukaradhya Gourapura) will collaborate on "Encapsulation of Natural Product Insecticides with Chitosan Nanoparticles to Enhance Control of the Mosquito Vector Aedes aegypti."
Manuja Gunasena, applicant (PI: Dr. Namal Liyanage) & Aditi Varkey, co-applicant (PI: Dr. Patrick Collins) will collaborate on “Investigate the Mechanism of BCG Induced Adaptive/Memory NK Cell Responses.”
